Dr. Sandfort is the area's only dual Board Certified surgeon in both colorectal and general surgery. He joined our group practice in 1987. He earned his medical degree from New Jersey Medical School. He completed his general surgical training at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center. Dr. Sandfort has extensive experience in colorectal surgery including laparoscopic colon surgery and less invasive hemorrhoid treatment. He also performs a full range of general surgery and laparoscopic procedures. Dr. Sandfort is licensed to practice medicine in Massachusetts and Rhode Island and has office locations in Fall River and Portsmouth. He is on the medical staff at Charlton Memorial, St. Anne's and Newport Hospitals. He is an affiliate of the American College of Colorectal Surgeons, American Medical Association and Massachusetts Medical Society.
